Where the leak comes from and the likely cause

  • From the door (front-load): the rubber door seal is worn or clogged with lint, or the door is not closing properly.
  • From the back: inlet or drain hoses or their connections are loose or cracked.
  • From the front, low down: the pump filter cover is not tight.
  • From the detergent drawer: excess foam or a blocked drawer.
  • From underneath, with noise during the spin: possibly a worn tub seal or bearing.

Too much foam

Using too much detergent, or soap not made for automatic machines, creates excess foam that escapes from the drawer or door and looks like a leak. Use the right detergent in the recommended amount.

How we find the source of a leak

  • Dry the machine and run a short cycle to watch where the water appears.
  • Inspect the door seal, the inlet and drain hoses, the filter cap and the detergent drawer.
  • Test the inlet valve, the tub seal and the bearing.
  • Check that the hose connections are tight.

When do you need a technician?
